How to lounge: lesson 3

Lounge tip # 3:  Give your hands a break

As mom our hand are an essential tool, it is also one of the most neglected.  Today give your hands a break and treat them to a manicure

1.       Carefully wash and dry your hands.

2.       Clip away any torn or ragged edges

3.       File them using a gentle stroke in one direction, avoiding the corners to prevent weakening of the nail.

4.       Apply cuticle oil (olive oil works just fine), working it gently into your nails.  Allow it to remain on your hands for a minute or so, then, soak your hands in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. (Remember you deserve this time, so enjoy it!)

5.       Gently push back your cuticles and clip away any hangnails.

6.       Apply your favorite lotion.

7.       After you select a nail color paint one stroke down the center of your nail. Then, use one stroke down each of the two sides of your nail.  (Your entire nail should be completely covered in three strokes).

8.       Apply one more coat for nail protection.  Allow to dry before doing anything!

*Other nail tips:

·          Do not change your polish more than once a week, because the nail polish dries the skin

·          Always clean all of your manicure equipment with alcohol when you are finished.

·          Manicure items to keep on hand:  Nail clippers, cuticle scissors, cotton balls, emory boards, and nail polish remover. Source: essortment.com
